Nonprofit Mergers and Collaborations
While the economic situation is challenging for area nonprofits, it is also an opportunity for nonprofits to become more efficient and effective. For nonprofits wanting to learn more about mergers and collaborations, click here.

Care Foundation serves as a supporting organization to Northwest Arkansas Community Foundation and makes strategic investments in the areas of education, health, immigration, and capacity building for nonprofits.

Over the past 10 years, Care Foundation has invested more than $50 million in the community, deliberately connecting winning strategies, strong partners, and grantmaking dollars to yield favorable outcomes. Care does not accept unsolicited grant proposals, but instead selects a few needs/concerns in which it can make substantial differences and enters into multi-year partnerships with grantees. Potential grantees and Care meet and plan for as long as 18 months to two years to co-design programs and measurable outcomes before awards are considered.

Care Foundation seeks to make a lasting difference in Northwest Arkansas. Care’s investment strategy is designed to maximize long-term investment growth while preserving endowment capital to meet current and future needs of our community. Like other foundations, the overall value of our assets has declined; however, Care remains committed to its current, multi-year partners.  As those commitments are fulfilled, and existing initiatives cease, Care Foundation’s approach in launching new initiatives will be conservative. Interest areas have already been determined and prioritized. This will guide the Foundation when assets support new commitments. Additionally, Care will continue to make an impact through its roles as convener, catalyst, and knowledge source.
